Korean Cultural Festival

I can finally blog about this in a more coherent manner. I was just overwhelmed by everything that happened last night. Maybe too overwhelmed actually.

So I have been waiting for this festival and that anticipated concert for almost 2 or 2 1/2 weeks now. I had to let my eczema relatively heal for my dad to allow me to go and luckily he did. At first, I also thought that it was free but it turns out that one has to get tickets from either Sky, Destiny or Arirang. I never thought that I would get one so the moment my sister told me that I did, my friend and I jumped up and down and rejoiced. I mean, come on, I got the last 2 tickets given away by SkyCable. 'Twas awesome. Pure luck or maybe my dad's secretary and my sister were just really determined to get me those tickets. Plus my sister also got 5 more tickets so that was definitely a plus. And quizfreeze. God was, is and will always be with us. I must not forget that.

Anyways, onto the day itself. I went on a half day in school. That day, I honestly can't wait anymore for the 12:00 prayer to sound over the speakers in our classroom. I was finally out of that hell hole when it did. We then went home to change, ate Chowking(first time eating it and it was good) and finally went to CCP. Unfortunately, when the bus carrying the Korean performers arrived, we were stupid enough to go up thinking that they were just a bunch of Korean people who came to watch the show. The place was also jam packed with die hard fans screaming their lungs out and lining up outside the venue even if they didn't have tickets.

We sat on the first balcony, it was pretty far from the stage I must say but it was worth it. We got better seats than those who actually came earlier, so another tinge of luck there. When the Korean music videos started playing (especially the DBSK ones), I started screaming and I finally got out of my "No Reaction" state which normally never happens. The Filipino performances were pretty good, with the traditional dances, Brownman Revival going up and down the stage, etc... That young Korean boy who sung Anak was also awesome. He pwned the song. After the first half of the program, Mighty Mouth came out. I didn't know them before but damn, they were really good. They lighted up the whole stage and brought the house down with their songs. They were pretty friendly too which is an added bonus. Then came Winterplay. Christel and I started doing countdowns to SHINee and I didn't want the countdown to end for that will signify that after SHINee comes out, everything will be over and that sort of trance like state will finally come to an end.

The feeling of anticipation was probably the best sort of feeling that I got that night. When I saw four shadow figures emerge from the right side of the stage, I went screaming especially when I saw Key. He was damn HOT. They sang Stand By Me first, but I would have preferred them singing Replay, my favorite SHINee song EVER. They also sang Juliette and I started screaming my lungs out again particularly in Key's solos. They were then interviewed by Isak and Luis Manzano(he looks way better in person and he's hilarious). Minho and Onew walked, kind of like a ramp walk with a pose at the end of the stage. Key and Minho rapped, then obviously I screamed for Key's greatness and that bowl-like-hard jello-like hair of his. Finally Jonghyun sang Noona, which was awesome because they didn't get to perform that song as a group. Finally, they sang Ring Ding Dong. The dance moves were just :headbang: Everything was like one big blur, with 4 figures dancing and people just going wild and crazy. We were like wild hyenas.

Finally, after the entire program, we rushed out of the venue, went outside and waited for them outside their bus. After one hour and loads of pushing from those big people that kept on stepping on my foot, Christel and I finally got to see them closely. Minho was eh. Onew looked nice. Jonghyun's hair really stood out and I must admit, he looks better in person. Key was damn HOT  obviously plus he was so aloof. Some people might find this a turn off but it's a turn on for me. Ok, that just sounds weird and kinky. :brushteeth: Taemin unfortunately has swine flu. Sucks but I hope he'll recover soon. He's actually my 2nd favorite member.

Gosh, everything was well worth it. From hearing the news, begging my dad to let me go, letting my hands heal, asking my sister to convince her friend to get us tickets, letting my sister and the secretary call the cable network, getting the tickets themselves, from compromising my vocal chords and for having my feet being stepped on and scraped.

Best concert ever. The most intense one I have ever been to.

I'm not a blogger which is why I sound so not coherent but I don't want to forget this day. It hasn't sunk in yet to be honest. Definitely one of the best days in my life as a teenager. :headbang:
